The intent of the PUD zone is to allow opportunity for more creative and imaginative commercial and business projects than generally possible under strict application of the zoning regulations in order that such projects shall provide substantial additional benefit to the community. It is further intended to preserve unique or sensitive physical features, such as steep slopes, views, retention of natural vegetation and to provide more open space, recreational amenities, and urban design amenities than would be available under conventional land development practices. Additionally, it is intended to promote more economical and efficient use of land and a unified design concept for commercial and business development.
