“Yard” means a required open space that is on the same lot with the principal use and is unoccupied or unobstructed by any portion of a structure, except roof eaves, bump-out windows, fireplace chimneys and decks/balconies may extend up to 18 inches into the yard. In addition, paved terraces, fences, walls, retaining walls, rockeries, at-grade stairs, poles, posts, ornaments, furniture, and other customary yard accessories may be permitted in any yard subject to height limitations and requirements limiting the obstruction of visibility at intersections.
